Default SAS Planned for my MOONROVER

Yup finally set my mind to actually plan and go forth on the SAS that ive been wanting for awhile. Well, i currently run a 6" Fabtech lift, on 35" Procomp X-terrains on 17x9 ProComp 8089's with sad to say stock gears. Im not goin to lie its not a bad set up but i want bigger. So after searching the web i found a simple setup that i liked.
I am more than likely goin with the following:
Front Axle - SuperDuty D50
Rear Axle - Sterling 10.5"
Gears - 5:38s
Custom Spring Hangers
14" LeafSprings
ORU CrossOver Steering
44" SuperSwamper STS'

Which reminds me anybody currently running STS'? Do they float in the sand as good as they look like they should? It will be a slow process cause like i said im currently overseas. The only drawback is that i dont know how to weld will need to probably have someone help me when it comes to attaching the spring hangers. But we'll see what happends, i guess it all depends if i get the axles i want.

My Truck as off right now:

And Bigreen's truck off of FordTruckWorld that im copying the suspenion plan from:

First of all are you going to offroad this thing or is it a nose bleeder?? If your actually gonna use it may I make some suggestions. The dana 50 is a glorified dana 44. The dana 44 uses 760x u-joints which are the same thing used under a jeep front dana 30. Do you think 44" tires would last under a dana 30? Second......................well good luck and have fun. It is gonna be a lot of work, time and money. I am just trying to offer up some constructive criticism so take it or pay for it later by breaking it--------------------Kyle

I agree with Kyle as it being expensive. A 44" bogger is a big tire for any axle to handle, but the 48" Michelins that Cesar ran on his truck were by far the heaviest tire I have come across. He ran his setup for along time with no problems, and he put it through the ringer.

kyle has some good points there but i have to say that the D50 is not a glorified D44 by far, now i can say that it is no as strong as a D60. and if you plan on putting 44's on your truck be prepared. you will not only have to do alot of welding and cutting. and there are going to be some mod's to your steering cause you have a rack and pinion type steering and you will have to change it to a steering box set up so you can use the steering arm on the D50 axle. and i did put my dana 50 through alot of excessive shit and i had no complaints i would use that axle again and again as for draw backs the only thing that i hated were the hub assemblys' they are non greasable and they do not like the weight of the large tires. i had 44's, 46's, and 48's and the axle did great just those damb hub assemblys'. do some research before you jump into the fire

These are of 98 f150 with 44's, D60 front, 14B in back. This is an RGV truck, that will be set up +correctly+ thanks to BIGREEN (currently being redone at Big H's)

here are some pics of what you DONT want your rig to look like afterwards....
